The legend of Maa Saraswati is believed that with the orders of Lord Vishnu, Brahma started the universe and created man, but he was not satisfied with his creation. They felt that something was missing, due to which there was silence all around. After this, taking advice from Vishnu ji, Brahma ji sprinkled water from his kamandal. As soon as the water splashes on the earth, it started vibrating and a wonderful power appeared. This appearance was that of a four-armed beautiful woman, with a veena in one hand and a boar in the other hand. In both the other hands were a book and a garland. 

Devi played the veena Brahma ji requested the goddess to play the veena. As soon as the goddess started playing the veena, a melodious sound spread throughout the world. The creatures of the world got the voice. Then Brahma ji called her Saraswati, the goddess of speech. Maa Saraswati bestows knowledge and wisdom. She appeared on the day of Basant Panchami, hence her birthday is celebrated on Basant Panchami. Maa Saraswati is worshiped by law and the boon of knowledge and wisdom is sought.

According to the auspicious time of Basant Panchami, the Shukla Panchami of Magh month will start from 03.47 am on 05th February and will end at 03.46 am on 06th February. Therefore, the festival of Basant Panchami will be celebrated on 05 February 2022, Saturday. On this day, Siddha Yoga remains till 17.40 in the evening. According to the Panchang, Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra will remain on this day.

  • If your spouse is angry with you, then to convince him, you should write 'Clean' with vermilion on a white blank paper, fold it and keep it in the wardrobe of your spouse's clothes.
  • If you have been in search of a good husband or a good wife for a long time, then you should perform a havan with the lava of paddy mixed with curd along with the monosyllabic mantra of Kamadeva 'Clean'.
  • If your child is still young and he goes to school and you want him to become a good speaker in future and people are impressed by his words, then on Basant Panchami you should use pomegranate pen or if possible gold needle. While meditating on Maa Saraswati, write 'Ai' on the child's tongue by dipping it in honey.
  • If you want to attract someone towards you, then you should feel the face of that person with yellow flowers in your hand and chant this special mantra of Kamadeva 108 times. The mantra is – “Om Namo Bhagwate Kamdevaya, Yasya Yasya Drishno Bhavami, Yascha Yascha Mam Mukham Pachyati Tat Mohyatu Swaha. After chanting this mantra, keep those flowers with you till Holi. After that throw it in running water.
  • If you want to restore the winds of new zeal in your married life, then wearing yellow colored clothes, you should chant this mantra of Kamadeva in a rosary i.e. 108 times. The mantra is - 'Om kamdevaya: vidmahe pushabanay dhimahi tanno anangah prachodayat'.
  • If you belong to musician, singer or any other genre of music and want to move ahead in life, then you should worship Goddess Saraswati after taking bath etc. and offer yellow colored sweets to the Goddess. Blessings should be taken. Also his mantra should be chanted 11 times. The mantra is - 'Om aim hreem shree klein saraswatyai namah'.
  • If you want to maintain love in your marital relationship then you should worship Bhagwati Rati and Kamadeva and offer flowers to them.
